Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome to Ruahine School!
'The Best I Can Do, The Best I Can Be' 'Tū māia ki te mahi, tū rangatira ki te ao!'
In 2025 we launched our new logo – a reflection of who we are as a school community. It brings together key elements that represent our values, our connection to place, and our vision for our tamariki. Each part of the design has been thoughtfully chosen to celebrate the unique identity of our kura – from the colours and shapes to the symbolism that connects to our environment and learning journey.
The three hills represent our school houses – Whariti, Matanginui, and Takapari. The blue river represents for Rokai House, named after Rokaiwhana, a waterway that flows from the ranges through Rua Roa. It also symbolises the stream that runs through our QEII covenant area. The three koru represent the student, the school, and the family and wider community.
We’re proud of how this new logo honours our past while looking to the future. It tells a story of place, people, and partnership. We hope you enjoy the video and learning more about the meaning behind our new look.
Vision: Connected, Engaged, Empowered

Following consultation, we have developed a draft strategic plan outlining our proposed direction for the next three years. In the coming months, we will be seeking feedback from staff and the wider community to help shape the final version.
